Gyeongnam Changwon Industry-Academic Convergence Institute (President Park Seong-gil) announced on the 18th that in order to lay a foothold for creating new jobs and new industries through revitalization of defense industry startups in the province, seven early start-ups in the defense industry were finally selected as target companies for item development and support was started on the 18th. said.


Companies selected for start-up support include OneBase, Inix, Neo Health Technology, JM Tech, 3A Solutions, Eray, and Fine Ceramics.


The defense innovation cluster start-up support project is in charge of the Defense Technology Promotion Institute and is a second-year project conducted by the industry-academic convergence institute, the leading institution, the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency, and the Industrial Complex Corporation. It is a business that fosters growth and leaps forward by supporting item development.


The defense start-up companies selected this time receive up to 50 million won per company, such as prototype development and production, technology patents, and domestic and foreign certifications. , and industry-university-research networks such as defense-industry mini-cluster will also receive support.


In the Industry-University Convergence Institute, through a senior advisory group composed of Byeong-jae Moon, Director of the Army Comprehensive Maintenance Center, Mun-ki Han, Director of the Naval Logistics Command, and Byeong-hoo Oh, President of the Korea Military Supplies Export Association, difficulties arising from companies such as technology, management, and quality are maintained. It also helps start-up businesses grow. At the same time, it is supporting the successful activities of defense start-ups through the ‘Defense Innovation Startup Erumter’, a start-up incubation platform.


In 2021, the defense innovation cluster startup support project created 30 manpower nurturing and 23 new jobs (five start-ups, 17 new jobs), and the sales of participating companies grew by 192%.


An official from the Industry-University Convergence Institute said, "With a budget of 1 billion won this year, we plan to lead the revitalization of defense industry start-ups through continuous discovery of start-ups in the defense industry and operating education programs tailored to companies throughout the province."
