Gyeongnam Changwon Industry-University Convergence Center, selected as 7 defense start-up companies support projects 


Gyeongnam Changwon Industry-University Convergence Institute announced on the 20th that it has finally selected 7 early start-ups in the defense industry, including OneBase, as target companies for item development support in order to lay a foothold for creating new jobs and new industries through revitalization of defense industry startups in the province.



The ‘Defense Innovation Cluster Startup Support Project’ is a second-year project carried out exclusively by the Defense Technology Promotion Institute, the leading institution, the Industry-University Convergence Institute, and the participating organizations, the Changwon Industry Promotion Agency and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation.


In addition, it helps to discover defense start-ups with excellent technology and nurture them so that they can continue to grow and leap forward through item development support.



The defense start-up companies selected this time are △OneBase △INIX △guided howitzer use △NeoHealth Technology, △JM Tech, △ThreeA Solutions, △Eray, △Fine Ceramics.


OneBase Co., Ltd. is a company whose task name (item) is to improve the development of small BLDC motors and improve the manufacturing process.


Neo Health Technology Co., Ltd. develops Ethercat master interlocking board for condition monitoring system for rotorcraft and UAM (Urban Air Mobility), and JM Tech Co., Ltd. is developing engine cowling for defense WIG ship using flame retardant composite.


In addition, 3Solution Co., Ltd. is working on developing a nano-ceramic-based electromagnetic attenuation paint to protect defense facilities, including a smart gun box (management of gun storage using IoT sensors, environmental data monitoring) and a multi-output high-power X-ray high-voltage power supply for defense.


These defense companies will receive up to 50 million won per company, including prototype development and production, technology patents, and domestic and foreign certification.


Through this, it will receive accelerating support as well as support for specialized defense education, in-depth and consulting, investment, and industry-academic network support such as defense mini-cluster.


In addition, the Industry-Academic Convergence Institute is also providing spatial support through the operation of the "Bangsan Innovation Startup Room Site," a start-up incubation platform.


Meanwhile, the Industry-Academic Convergence Institute created 30 human resources training and 23 new jobs (5 start-ups and 17 new jobs) through the defense innovation cluster start-up support project in 2021.
